French Week last week: Paris and Avignon
Tuesday Parisien, under the stars, with Serge Levaillant, Alabarret Philippe, Freddy Massamba and Dominique Vantomme to accompany me for this night show on France Inter, I do for the second time. It's always a totally different atmosphere to record a show at night. Another energy. I feel a little low energy at the start but everything is going well. Dominique and I, we both titles piano voice and Drink For a no for a yes. The atmosphere is relaxed and the voice of Serge Levaillant is still attractive, severe and uncompromising. I really like. Owl also find Philippe and Freddy after two months (coaching session in September). I'm three hours into the arms of Morpheus. Sunrise 7:30 am train to Brussels 9:05. Short night. A little too much. The Paris metro is full to bursting. And Thalys too. Seriously my bed ...:).

I leave the next day to Paris to take a TGV to go to Avignon Forum 2009 (Culture / economics / Media) where I am part of the Belgian representatives as an artist. The forum will last two days. I am a bit stressed at first because I'm not accustomed to this kind of event a bit uptight. But I discovered a lot of fascinating people and enthusiasts from around the world and a debate on the place of culture really interesting.
The ambition of Avignon Forum is to bring the worlds of culture, economy and media, three sectors that synergy is essential to bring any project culturel.Pendant two days at the Palais Popes, artists, producers, publishers, industry partners and financial leaders of Internet companies and media are left with political leaders for a meeting point at the international level. 300 personalities from Algeria, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, South Korea, U.S., Mali, Morocco, Norway, across the EU have shared their experiences and created a unique alchemy . The debates of the second edition of the Avignon Forum - Culture, economy, media focus on the theme:
"cultural strategies for a new world." The attractiveness of the area, strategies for creation and innovation, the role of taxation in the economy sector will be the cultural heart of discussions in 2009. two days, during which I will learn A LOT of things, meet lots of people eat divinely well (Ha French cuisine may well belong to the patrimony of Unesco!) And meet me in the palace of the Popes still impressive. It's really good mix of economists, media executives and box productions and artists, the cocktail is more than explosive but sometimes that's what's good. Culture in our world today is indeed a place to take, take, to defend. And internet and new time perception (real time) forces us to ask many questions. To create a new label. Then, the culture should it be free? Culture did she a real value? Can it be a decisive factor in the crisis? A whole bunch of questions that have passionate, I must say. In any case one thing is certain. Culture can not be free. As an artist, we value and we must not lose it. There is a new manual to be built, otherwise some artists will eventually disappear. Now we must see how this can be done, what are the things to put in place.
For those interested, the debate is broader, of course, the forum site of Avignon is well supplied information. ( http://www.forum-avignon.org/ )
